THE artist and the process

Hey yall!

My name is Erin and I am a mother, wife, artist, and dreamer.

 I am originally from New Orleans, where I was born, raised, and lived for about the first 40 years of my life.

 I am now  living in Chandler, Arizona, a place known as,

 the Valley on the Sun.

I love anything to do with the arts:

art, music, literature, poetry, etc.

It feeds my soul.

Creating is my passion.

This is my dream.

I just want to create.  To give the world beautiful/positive creations to inspire, feel something, and to give happiness.

Each art piece begins with a watercolor background when a thick watercolor paper is being used.

When a canvas is being used, acrylic paint is used for the colorful background.

There is no rhyme or reason to the backgrounds.  

Whatever color I choose and wherever the brush roams on the paper, or canvas, is how the creative process begins.

For each art piece,

 a thick watercolor paper or gallery wrapped heavy duty canvas is used to capture my vision.

After the paint dries, 

I continue the process by sketching with pencil to get a feel of where the content will lay.

I then commit to the design 

and outline in black ink with my 

Pilot Pen.

I actually love when this process is complete,

 to see the design bare, 

before the color is added.
